Celebrate what makes us great! Come say hello to your community, have tons of fun and learn about different cultures!
It’s the second annual Ridgefield Multicultural Festival! Spend the day in downtown Ridgefield to connect with your community, have fun, and learn about different cultures! The event will showcase Ridgefield’s traditional heritage and introduce visitors to cultures from around the world through live music, dance performances, storytelling, sporting events, kids activities and a wide range of ethnic vendors.
The Multicultural Festival Vendor Village will open at 9 AM in Overlook Park and feature Farmer’s Market, First Saturday, and Multicultural vendors; and food vendors serving Indian cuisine, BBQ and other ethnic dishes. Many hands-on activities will be offered at vendor booths, as well as a Passport Activity that explores the history and customs of other nations. Visit the Native American Village, a section of the festival dedicated to showcasing the Chinook Indian Nation and its history in the Ridgefield area; immerse yourself in indigenous culture with hands on activities, children’s crafts, music, demonstrations , and artisan vendors. Read on below for a schedule of events.
Explore downtown Ridgefield and visit the Family History Zone at Ridgefield Community Library or DISCover Golf Course at Davis Park. Old Liberty Theater will have two showings during the festival: Kirikou and the Sorceress at 2PM (children’s matinee), Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World at 7PM. For more details, see the City’s website at www.ridgefieldwa.us.
Showcase a Country’s Flag
Our goal is to celebrate cultures at home and around the world. In order to create a festival atmosphere and to showcase the many places that Ridgefield families have roots, we plan on having flags of all nations along Pioneer Blvd and Main Street in the downtown area, as well as around the roundabouts.
