1. Vancouver Waterfront Park
One of the newest parks in the City of Vancouver, it has some of the best views of Mt Hood and the Columbia River. It also has a water feature that is popular with all ages. Take a stroll on the Grant Street Pier and visit the play structure on the west end of the paved walk way.
2. Columbia Tech Center Park
A 25,000 sq ft Nature Playground that blends the use of large boulders, logs, and sand play into an awesome park experience. Walk trails and enjoy the Summer Concert Series in the amphitheater.
3. Fisher Basin Community Park
Located next to Shahala Middle School just off of 192nd Ave and Mill Plain in SE Vancouver. Large play structure with swings, baseball diamond, basketball and tennis courts. Pavilion available for parties or celebrations but reservations are required.
4. Esther Short Park
Ideally located in downtown Vancouver next to the Farmers Market. This park has a play structure but also plenty of green space. On the opposite corner of the play structure there is a water feature that kids will enjoy during the hot summer days. Most festivals and outdoor concerts are held here.
5. Alderbrook Park
Ok, this park is not located in Vancouver but it is too good not to mention. Admission is required. Beach entry pool, miniature golf, volleyball courts, pirate ship, paddle boats for the lake, bounce houses and more. Food and drinks available for purchase. Check their schedule for public days.
6. Fort Vancouver National Historical Site
Admission required. You won’t find a playground here. But, walk back in time and learn about the importance of Fort Vancouver and how it shaped Vancouver today. Knowledgeable staff and reenactments can be seen throughout the year.
7. Marshall Park
A large community park with play equipment, multi-use fields, horseshoes, swings, trails and shelter. Kids can “ride” on the pretend fire truck too. It is close to I-5 and the Marshall Community Center near downtown Vancouver.
8. Nikkei (pronounced NEE-kay) Park (aka Dinosaur Park)
Opened June 2021 – One of Vancouver’s newest park located in the North Image neighborhood off of the roundabout of 137th Ave and 52nd Street. This park has a dinosaur theme and play structures that will make the kids scream with excitement!
