If you find yourself visiting downtown Vancouver and are searching for a family-friendly restaurant, make your way to Vancouver Pizza Company.  This pizzeria has been a community landmark in downtown Vancouver for over 20 years.  If a restaurant has survived that long, they must be doing something right!

In November 2016, Vancouver Pizza Company re-opened its doors after a 10 week expansion and remodel.  I was anxious to view the expansion but more importantly….taste some delicious pizza!

When we arrived, we were seated immediately by the manager Michael.  We noticed the larger dining room, the new flooring, new furniture and the selection of games and table activities for the whole family. The games were a huge hit with our family.  It kept the kids occupied while our customized pizzas were being baked to perfection.  The kitchen has doubled in size and their new pizza oven can bake over 30 pizzas at one time!  They even have a special prep area for gluten-free pizzas.

In the upcoming months they will be installing a projector to show movies and / or sporting events.  Not everything is brand new.  It did manage to maintain it’s charm by keeping it’s iconic “Creation of Adam” painting.  The painting is not the only thing that survived….so did their menu.  As I mentioned earlier, there’s a reason they have managed to remain open for over 20 years.

For those of you who have never been to Vancouver Pizza Company, there are plenty of reasons it should be your next stop.  Their pizza menu boosts over 25 different kinds of pizza which include specialty chicken, specialty meat, specialty vegetarian, and old favorites.  Of course you can build your own pie with plenty of sauces, vegetables, meats, cheeses and even nuts.  There is also a wide variety of vegan and gluten-free menu options including crusts, sauces, toppings, and bread sticks.

If your looking for something besides pizza, they also serve fresh salads, hot sandwiches, calzones, their famous bread sticks and desserts.   Plenty of beverage choices to satisfy everyone from local beers, soda, juices, coffee, tea and milk.
