Christmas Ships – M. James Gleason Boat Ramp / Washington Shores / Wintler Park
Portland’s annual Christmas Ship Parade, the longest continually running Christmas Ship parade in America. Since 1954, a 100% volunteer-run organization. An Oregon Heritage Tradition.
Route Details
7:00PM – Columbia Fleet assembles in front of M. James Gleason Boat Ramp, 43rd/NE Marine Drive. Tonight the fleet will remain the first hour in the area of the boat ramp, and across the river to the Washington Shoreline. About 8PM, the fleet will head downriver to the I-5 Bridge and restaurants and can be seen from both sides of the river. Tonight, the parade will not be on the Oregon side below the bridge.
Outdoor Viewing Locations:
* James M Gleason Boat Ramp parking Lot NE 4rd/Marine Drive. Ships can be seen here at 7:00PM. The gates will be kept open longer so people can view the parade. The $5 parking still applies.
* Viewing is also good in areas along NE Marine Drive from NE 29th to 42nd St
